在OS 8年代大受歡迎、由Karelia software開發的網上搜尋軟件Watson，最後被蘋果在OS 9後加入的Sherlock完全取代。（但到了Mac OS X，雖然Sherlock仍在，但已被Dashboard widget蓋過風頭）
Karelia software主腦Dan Wood再接再勵，在去年WWDC展示新型網頁設計軟件Sandvox。Wood接受C|Net訪問，指蘋果可能在iLife 06加送的iWeb，可能和Sanvox類似。Dan Wood趕在今天推出Sandvox，早過蘋果可能推出的iWeb。但他也認為蘋果的iWeb沒有再抄他的橋

“The reality is Apple is looking at the big markets and the consumer and that is where our ideas tend to come, at this point it’s a coincidence. But it’s an unfortunate coincidence.”

另外，不少人指Dashboard Widget抄自Konfabulator（現稱Yahoo! Widget）。
