Instant-on還是Always-on？

之前有與多土爐睇齊的Instant-on蘋果Mac。但The Consumer Electronics Stock Blog的Carl Howe，對蘋果狂買NAND flash memory又另一猜想。
他指出，用蘋果iBook或PowerBook的朋友，多數都不會關機。只需合蓋進入Sleep Mode，再開機即用，也即Always-on。Instant-on其實不算太重要。
他也相信NAND flash memory都是用於取代硬盤，但目的是令筆記電腦更加薄。假如使用Tablet的款式，再加上iTMS銷售影像的渠道，此一使用NAND Flash memory的筆記型電腦，將會成為一台完美的影像播放裝置。
噫！這個猜想，好像在某處見過，但又說不出是那裡…
I want my computer to be instant on AND always on
其實…如果是把 OS 放在 CHIPS 然後把其他APPLICATIONS 放在 HARDDISK 這個可行嗎?
這樣的話應該可以INSTANT ON…而OS 變成 CHIPS DEPENDENT…那麼又不怕被盜…

I think a new type of digital-life device from Apple is going to release based on Flash memory. It would be like a PDA with features like:
- MacOSX (Lite)
- Keyboard (for thumbs)
- Wireless
- iSight (with Mic)
- Play AAC or Videos
- Touch screen
- iChat (with video) and Safari(portable)
- 8GB Storage, USB2/FireWire
This device will target youths (main group of iPod users) so that they can carry it and iChatAV/WebSurf/EMail at anywhere/anytime with wireless. Maybe it just my dream.
