Re: Antony Shen,

me,

I hate the itunes quicktime package since day one. I want the itunes to sync with my ipod, but quicktime is totally useless to me. It reminds of windows ie thing.

Now it's safari, which is pretty decent software, though I like my firefox better. Why can't apple just give users the freedom? Don't take advantage of users' trust. Apple, please don't be another microsoft. As google said, don't be evil.

</blockquote>

I am astounded to know that Mozilla CEO dared to make such complain.

Let's look at Firefox's (dirty) tactic...
Under Firefox's default setting. Users are forced to install whatsoever updates Firefox wants.

Firefox users, unless carefully examining every single settings in Preference, have no options but a new Firefox will be installed upon next relaunch of the software. (see http://sillydog.org/forum/sdt_13042.php )

If you were one of those forgot or missed to opt out the option, you were forced to get a new Firefox.

I am not against updating to the latest version/patch, but must it being rushed? Can't users elect to do so at convenient time? Certainly not everybody is interested in rushing for everything the latest.

On the other hand, Apple Software Update gives users the option not to install the software, and can even be ignored.
