隔岸觀火: iPhone 1.1.1 事件

蘋果已經在一周前發出警告，在新版 firmware 推出後，真的有不少 iPhone 「變磚」！此大規模 iPhone 變磚事件更加上了 BBC 。暫時未知道因此變磚的 iPhone 能否獲得 AppleCare 保固。 Gizmodo 就 firmware 更新重新評估 iPhone ，指新版 iPhone 不值得買，主要因為不再支援第三方軟件及使用 AT&T 外的電訊商。

問大家一個問題：假定香港 iPhone 是由一家像樣的電訊商作獨家電訊商，一台沒有破解的原廠無改 iPhone 是不是真的不值得買？你會為第三方軟件而去破解 iPhone 嗎？

    其實我想問:
    如果我真的join了AT&T的plan兩年, 兩年後是否要繼續用AT&T?
    如果是的話，而我又想轉台, 那我的iPhone豈不是變了廢機？

    I had used iPhone for a week, I think 3rd party software not a must for me… And slow down my iPhone instead. I unlock just becos I have no choice.

    By the way, don’t you think all apple product become useless within two years? So I guess we better hope there will be a better iPhone than hoping we can keep this one as long as we can.

    P.S.: I type this on my iPhone :)

    如果我係要用好多 3rd party apps, 任玩的電話, 我會選用 Linux OS 的電話.

    由始至終我都覺得iPhone作為一部手提電話來計是不合格的。

    鎖台這件事是公開的，購買時巳經知道。所以現在不能說Apple升級Firmware鎖台不公平。

    不支援3rd-party軟件，是指全部，還是Apple指定合作那些無問題，但其他＊出色＊的軟件才受限制呢？如果無記錯，又無理解錯，Steve好似一開始就講明iPhone吾係open platform，大家吾可以隨意開發軟件的。

    要一部全功能、可以加3rd-party軟件，支援Mac iSync，找部Symbian好些。Nokia是一個不錯的選擇。

    In face, I smell lawsuit is coming……. What Apple and AT&T did is really violate the law in US. DMCA said people allow to unlock their phone if they want to after they bought it. But Apple and AT&T are fail to do so, because AT&T said they won’t unlock people’s iPhone after 2 year contract, and customer service also won’t support and repair unlocked or hacked iPhone.

    1. 好大機會引發一場硬膠官司，因為美國fair use權利呢家嘢好緊要，最後搞出乜出嚟無人知。

    2. 暫時iPhone的3rd party軟件，好的唔多，一日無XCode for iPhone，好的軟件都唔會多。我自己裝嘅，都係一啲我過往用PDA常裝的軟件，例如to do list，Password Manager之類。

    3. 我一直強調，好似玩OSX86咁，你唔好升級就萬事大吉。

    4. 如果Apple引進的iPhone係3G版，而合作係PCCW Mobile或者Smartone，我會寧願買部無3rd party software的機，因為有啲功能，係可以用Notes嚟止咳。但如果係同Telstra或者3合作，咁我用番我自己用緊果部好過喇。Telstra帳單亂咁嚟，而3根本係一個廢台。

    極不同意閣下的說法，我去到某些離島其他台都收唔到，只有3和PCCW收到。
    3的網絡已經不是幾年前的orange，請不要戴有色眼鏡。

    其實iPhone的確很吸引，可惜價錢太貴，我寧願買部平電話 MacBook算。

    那位朋友提到有些離島地方 3 是收到, 我亦覺得不無道理. 因為我曾經用了 7 年 3.
    這亦是 3 唯一的可用地方 (有錢舖線路掛). 但我也是不喜歡 3 的, 因為月結的賬單
    時常收多了月費 (比平時多了兩三倍), 然後就會有人打來問要不要轉用其他月費計
    劃云云. 我太不喜歡佢地做生意既手法, 無故的收多了月費, 太過份了.

    My old classmate brought 2 from the same store I brought mine and he always unlock it and also said his is 1.1.1 version.

    Will mine be 1.1.1 firm ware, too? How can I check?

    I know my Firware Version is 04.02.13_G. Is this 1.1.1 Version?
