incidentally, just to remark that my favourite gapless playback is implemented automatically on all tunes on the ipod.  as to itunes, its implementation has to be set to individual tunes, and where it is set crossfade playback would be overridden.</description>

the link u provide points to a thread on itunes for windows.  the same problem perplexes users of mac version as well?

there's a quicktime update along with the itunes.  is that possibly related.  i dont know if itunes playback is related to QT or not at all.

for gapless playback, the itunes 7 programme went through each and every one of my mp3 files to analyse them in the installation process.  some users of that forum suggest the process never ends.  fortunately, the process was complete in my case.  hope the "analysis" did not touch my mp3 files.

"buffer" as one user suggest is likely to be the culprit, and there r reports itunes r disturbed when other applications run at the same time.  as such, we can only wait for an update.  i wont add memory for this reason.
