蘋果不再想公開Darwin源碼?
Published by Chainsaw February 24th, 2006 in Odds and Ends, Open Source.OpenDarwin是Mac OS X的核心Darwin的分支專案。OpenDarwin開發者Rob Braun指出蘋果似乎有逐步退出Darwin公開源碼。他們發現蘋果沒有將就10.4.5而修改的Darwin源碼公開。另外，他們也不再將Intel版，用來編釋Darwin的cctool公開。Slashdot文章估計，蘋果是防止OSx86之流的開發者從Darwin源碼看出破解Mac OS X在普通x86電腦運行的方法。
另外，Slashdot的Comment永遠比內文好看。Comment大爆蘋果曾經和Linux-NTFS的開發者交涉，要求開發者在Linux-NTFS的使用執照GPL之上，加多一個APL，故此蘋果可使用Linux-NTFS的程式碼，而無需按照GPL將蘋果方面修改的程式碼公開。但當然，蘋果是食了一次檸檬。也因此，現時Mac OS X仍然只能讀取NTFS硬碟，而未能寫入。
