因為 MG 讀者 Henry 留言擔心iTunes 6.0.2 的新功能 MiniStore 會讓蘋果侵犯用戶私隱 - 當你開 iTunes 聽歌時 MiniStore 會按照你所聽的歌連同你的 Apple ID 回傳到蘋果，繼而推薦你買甚麼歌。這個新功能初初的確引起爭議，因為蘋果未經用戶同意便錄取用戶聽歌的習慣，然後用作商業用途，不過第二日 macosxhints 發現關閉 MiniStore 的話 ( Edit > Hide Ministore 或按 Shift-Command-M )，MiniStore 便不會把你的私隱回傳給蘋果，後來 iTunes 6.0.2 的installer 有了提示：

The iTunes MiniStore allows you to discover new music and videos right from your iTunes Library. As you select items in your Library, information about that item is sent to Apple and the MiniStore will send you related songs or videos. Apple does not keep any information related to the contents of your music Library.

要注意的是，蘋果是不會紀錄你的 music Library 的內容，而 MiniStore 也只會因為聽取的歌有變才作出相應的變動，並不像 Sony 的Rootkit 一開始已掃瞄過 music Library 的內容，所以，大家若是擔心私隱受竊用，可關閉 MiniStore。
